For Railways, Varinder Singh (60kg) and Govind Sahni (48kg) won the gold medals with equal unanimous wins. While 2021 Asian Championship bronze medalist Varinder defeated Etash Khan Mohammad of Services, Govind defeated Kuldeep Kumar of Chandigarh.
The championship, which returned after a hiatus of one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, saw the participation of units and boards from 35 states/UTs and around 400 boxers.
The gold and silver medalists from each category of the championship will also get direct entry into the national coaching camp, with two bronze medalists participating in the selection trials where they will compete with boxers representing the other team from the top-3 teams.
