Central government offices to resume 100% attendance for employees from Feb 7 | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Central government offices will resume 100% attendance for employees at all levels from Monday in view of the decline in the number of covid cases as well as positivity rate.
“A review of the pandemic situation was done on Sunday and it has been decided that full office attendance, without any exemption, shall resume with effect from February 7, 2022,” minister of state for personnel and PMO Jitendra Singh told TOI.
Stating that adherence to Covid-appropriate behavior will continue to be mandatory in all Central government offices, Singh said the respective head of departments shall ensure that all employees wear face masks at all times and maintain hand hygiene.
The latest office memorandum issued by department of personnel and training (DoPT), mandating 100% attendance for all Central government employees, is in supersession of the earlier circular dated February 3, 2022 that required 50% attendance of employees below the level of under- secretary, with the remaining 50% working from home, until February 15. After obtaining inputs from the relevant quarters and a fresh review of the situation, DoPT has now decided to issue a fresh OM informing that employees at all levels, without any exemption, will report to office from February 7, 2022. “There will be no more ‘work from home’ option for any Central government employee,” said Singh.
