The cases of monkeypox are increasing rapidly in the world. In view of this, the Government of India has also come into action mode. On Thursday, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written a letter to all the states and union territories advising them to be vigilant against monkeypox and follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

What is the government guideline?

The central government has instructed the states to increase vigil at the points of entry i.e. the places of arrival of the passengers. From the monitoring team to the doctors, everyone will be posted here. Apart from this, people who came in contact with people who have symptoms will also be investigated.

The Health Ministry has asked states to earmark separate hospitals for monkeypox. Arrangements will be made to isolate and treat patients during illness here.

Suspected patient found in Kerala

It is worth noting that now in India too, there are continuous reports of patients suspected of monkeypox being found. On Thursday, Kerala Health Minister Veena George informed that the first suspected patient of monkeypox has been found in the state. The man reached Kerala from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) three days ago, after which he showed symptoms like monkeypox. He was also in contact with a monkeypox patient abroad.

At present, the patient has been admitted to the hospital and his samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune. At the same time, a suspected case of monkeypox was also reported in Kolkata, West Bengal last week. However, later his test report came negative.
