Center will give quick relief to those affected by the hike in fuel prices: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma | Guwahati News – Times of India

Guwahati: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma On Monday, he said he believed that the Center would soon provide relief to those who have been affected by the continuous hike in fuel prices.
“The hike in fuel prices has definitely affected people. I am sure the Indian government will consult with the countries from where we import fuel and give relief to the people soon.
After another hike in petrol, diesel and LPG on Sunday, the price of a liter of petrol in the city went up to Rs 100.38, while that of a liter of diesel to Rs 92.29. On Monday, the price of LPG was also reduced to Rs 948.50 per cylinder.
“In February, we had withdrawn VAT of Rs 5 on petrol and diesel in the state and we have not imposed it again,” Sarma said.
Andhra Pradesh has the lowest prices for both – Rs 87.24 for a liter of petrol and Rs 80.21 for a liter of diesel, according to the national price list of petrol and diesel on Monday.
At the other end of the price spectrum, petrol is the most expensive in Madhya Pradesh – Rs 113.02 per liter – while diesel is the most expensive in Rajasthan at Rs 102.69 per litre.
Under the dynamic fuel pricing regime, the rates of petrol and diesel in the country are revised on a daily basis and hence any change in global oil prices is reflected in the increase in prices in the domestic market.
The price of fuel in the retail market includes excise duty, VAT, dealer commission which is added to the base price. The price of fuel is also influenced by the US dollar to rupee exchange rate, the cost of crude oil, the demand for fuel.
