New Delhi: The slow pace of procurement and administration of Kovid-19 vaccine by private centers in some states is a cause of “grave concern”. Center said on Wednesday and advised the states and union territories to review the situation on a daily basis and ensure that the demand for doses is placed with the vaccine manufacturers expeditiously.

Bhushan said many private covid Immunization Centers (PCVCs) have not submitted any indent for prescribed quantity of COVID-19 vaccines.
A statement from the Health Ministry said that many state governments need to facilitate the procurement of vaccines by PCVC.
“The states were advised to review the situation on a daily basis and ensure that the demand for the prescribed quantity is placed with the private vaccine manufacturers expeditiously,” it said.
The statement said that in many cases, while the demand for the Kovid-19 vaccine has been placed with the state government, the full amount of the indented vaccines has not been paid.
“In some cases, no payment has been made for the entire demand quantity. The State Governments and the PCVC were advised to ensure that the difference between the quantity demanded and the payment for their purchases is zero,” it said. .
States and Union Territories participating in the meeting are Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Delhi, Punjab and Haryana through video conference.
Nodal representative of two COVID vaccine manufacturers, M / s/ Bharat Biotech and M/s Serum Institute of India (SII) were also present.
In the light of revised guidelines for nationwide universalisation covid vaccination program and recent advisory, review of progress of vaccine procurement and administration by PCVC in these states and union territories.
States were again informed about the use of Co-Win platform as a backend management tool for order placement, it said, adding that states and UTs need to meet this demand.
During the meeting, Bhushan pointed out that in some states, the quantum of paid vaccines has not been physically picked up by the states/PCVCs and asked them to expedite, the statement said.
In some states, wherever the vaccine dose has been raised by the PCVC, the actual administration of COVID-19 vaccines is seen to be less than the dose raised.
“States and the PCVC were advised to review this and ensure that the balance of unused vaccine doses are administered quickly,” the statement said.
On the slow pace of immunization through PCVC, States were advised to review the status and progress of vaccination by PCVC daily.
“He was advised to ensure rapid and effective coordination between PCVC and vaccine manufacturers to remove barriers, if any.
“It was informed that the states should be given advance visibility of the COVID vaccines. Union Health Ministry The citizens in turn need to be informed by the states,” the statement said.
The Union Health Ministry has organized five regional workshops for giving indents on Co-VIN, payment of dosage, etc. to State Nodal Officers and PCVCs.
States were advised to state whether any further refresher training sessions are required. These will be organized based on the requirement of the states, the statement said.
