In the case of making and sharing pornographic videos of children, the CBI is raiding 76 locations in the country since Tuesday morning. According to information received from CBI officers, on November 14, 23 named FIRs were registered against 83 accused in this case.

CBI’s RC Joshi told Bhaskar.com that since this morning this search is going on in 76 cities of different states of the country. Two days ago, the CBI had registered a case in this matter. Since this morning people’s houses have been raided at different places in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh. This action is being taken in different cities of 14 states and UTs. According to sources, raids are also being conducted in 3 big cities of Madhya Pradesh.

According to the data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) recently, cyber crimes against children across the country have increased by more than 400% in 2020 as compared to 2019. Most of these cases relate to the publication and transmission of material showing children engaging in sexual acts.

Maximum 170 cases in UP
According to the NCRB data for 2020, Uttar Pradesh (UP) recorded the highest number of 170 cases of online crime against children. It is followed by Karnataka and Maharashtra. 144 and 137 cases of crime against children were registered here. Kerala (107) and Odisha (71) are at number four and fifth in this list.

Supreme Court judge warned
Supreme Court Judge Justice U.U. Lalit had said that it is not just child trafficking and child abuse, child pornography is something that should be looked into.
