Caught on camera: Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukheda shot dead in Mohali
Yuva Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukheda was shot dead in broad daylight in Mohali on Saturday when two armed men fired around 15 bullets at the youth leader in Mataur market and fled the spot.
It is seen in the video that the former president of the student wing of the Akali Dal tried to flee from the spot when two youths in a Hyundai i20 car started firing at him. Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky Middukheda is said to be a group member of infamous gangster Larensh Vishnoi lodged in Tihar Jail.
According to reports, Middukheda had come to meet his friend in an SUV near the office of a property consultant in a market in Mataur. He was taken from the spot to the hospital in a PCR van where he died.
An empty shell has been recovered from the spot. Police is scanning the CCTV footage of the area. SSP Satinder Singh and DSP reached the spot.
Middukheda was a student leader and was once the President of the Panjab University (SOPU), the student organization of Panjab University, Chandigarh. Later, he joined the Student Organization of India (SOI), the student wing of the SAD.
