Cattle Thief Lynched In Madhepura | Patna News – Times of India

MADHEPURA: An alleged cattle thief was beaten to death in Ammobasa village under Puraini police station area in Madhepura district on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Shantanu (23), a resident of Puraini ward number-10.
Shantanu was allegedly caught while stealing a goat from a house in the village on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. People woke up and raised an alarm. Shantanu tried to flee but was caught by the villagers, who thrashed him. Shantanu’s father Laxman Mistri rushed to rescue him, but he was also beaten up.
On getting information, the local police reached the village and rescued them. They were taken to the local community health centre (CHC) where Shantanu succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Puraini SHO Deepak Chandra Das said a complaint had been received in this connection and investigation was on in the case.
