VADODARA: A section of cattle keepers in the city met the city mayor Keyur Rokadiya in wake of the action being taken by the Vadodara civic body against cattle found on the city roads.
The VMC had started impounding cattle from roads after the death of a man in an accident involving a bovine last month. The drive continued in wake of the assurance of action against the cattle menace given to the Gujarat high court by the state government.
The cattle rearers sought that the VMC should not take strict action against cattle owners. They assured that they would ensure that cattle are not left on the roads.
The mayor replied that if the owners themselves ensured that the cattle were not let out on roads, there will be no need for action.
