Vadodara: After a gap of almost a month, the number of fresh Covid-19 positive cases in Vadodara city and district have come below 1,000. By Sunday evening, Vadodara city and district registered 980 fresh Covid-19 cases after which the total number of Covid-19 positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic reached 1,29,081.
On January 13 fresh Covid-19 cases in Vadodara had crossed the 1,000 mark – and the city and district put together had registered 1,047 positive cases within 24 hours. The fresh cases came down significantly on Saturday when 1,012 cases were registered in 24 hours.
The fresh 980 cases are from 5,191 samples indicating a drop in positivity rate which was earlier on the rise.
The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) also declared death of five more patients on Sunday taking up the total official death toll to 675.
The number of active cases on the other hand remain at 9,465. Of these, 9,064 are under home isolation, 401 are hospitalized, 34 are being treated under ventilator or BI-PAP support while 64 are in ICU. While 130 individuals require oxygen support, 173 patients have mild symptoms.
In terms of urban-rural ratio, Vadodara city is counting for maximum number of fresh Covid-19 cases compared to Vadodara rural since quite some time.
On Sunday too, Vadodara city saw an addition of 777 cases whereas Vadodara rural added 203 cases.
