Car hits 2-year-old while walking alone in West Houston – Henry’s Club

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A child is in hospital after being hit by a car early Sunday in Westheimer, West Houston.

Investigators said the 2-year-old was alone when he was walking through his home.

Police said he crossed all four westbound lanes in Westheimer’s 13800 block and was hit by a car on eastbound lanes.

The driver stopped and informed the police. He got very upset on the spot.

The driver told ABC13 that he was on his way to work and did not see the little boy until it was too late.

The child was taken to a local hospital via Lifeflight, where police said his condition was critical.

“The story I have is that the child must have left the house without anyone knowing, and thus he must have ended up here on the street,” Sgt. Michael Horoch said.

Police said the child’s parents had informed him about his disappearance just before killing him.

Overnight the temperature went beyond 30. It is not clear how long the boy was out before the injury.

Police were questioning the boy’s family.
