Captain’s close officers removed as soon as he became CM: Administrative reshuffle in Punjab; Channi appointed IAS Husan Lal as Principal Secretary and IAS Rahul Tiwari as Special Principal Secretary

Charanjit Singh Channi has made the first major administrative reshuffle as soon as he became the Chief Minister of Punjab. Senior IAS Husan Lal has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Along with this, Rahul Tiwari has been appointed for the post of Special Principal Secretary. Earlier, IAS Tejveer Singh and IAS Gurkeerat Kirpal Singh were officers close to Captain Amarinder Singh in both the posts.

Prior to this posting, IAS Husan Lal of 1995 batch was earlier Principal Secretary Investment Promotion with Additional Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce and Information Technology.

At the same time, 2000 batch IAS Rahul Tiwari was earlier Secretary Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs with Additional Secretary Employment Generation and Training, Mission Director Punjab Skill Development Mission, Nodar Officer Anti Drug Abuse Campaign (Ministry of Home Affairs), Additional Secretary Home Affairs.

Earlier, in the first press conference, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi talked about taking big steps to check sand mafia and illegal mining. Also asked the Central Government to repeal the new Central Agriculture Act. Channi referred to the 18-point program set by the Congress leadership and assured the people that all issues would be resolved in the coming days.
