Candidates wish BJP victory over ‘Janata’ 4-0

In West Bengal, the ruling party Trinamool Congress won 4-0 by-elections in four seats. In view of that victory, Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee congratulated the candidates. Mamta wrote in a tweet, ‘My heartiest congratulations to the four winning candidates!’

Mamta Banerjee further wrote, ‘This victory is the victory of the people. Because this victory shows how Bengal will always choose development and unity instead of propaganda and hate politics. With the blessings of the people, we promise that we will take Bengal to greater heights!’

Trinamool’s victory began as soon as the counting of votes began in Dinhata of Koch Behar, Khardha in North 24 Parganas, Gosaba in South 24 Parganas and Shantipur in Nadia. As the day progressed, the grassroots candidates started widening the gap. Trinamool Congress won each constituency with a huge margin. The BJP had won two out of the four by-elections held. However, Trinamool snatched those two seats from BJP.

Meanwhile, the land storm has subsided at Gosaba and Dinhata. The margin of victory in both the seats is huge. Trinamool candidate Subrata Mandal confirmed victory in Gosaba by a margin of around 130,000. At the same time, Udayan Guha avenged his defeat in Dinhata by a record margin of 1 lakh 83 thousand and by 58 votes. On the other hand, Shobhandev Chattopadhyay in Khardha and Brajkishore Goswami in Shantipur also won with a huge margin of votes.
