New Delhi: Canada Will resume random COVID testing for fully vaccinated international arrivals at its four major airports from July 19 Toronto, vancouverCalgary and Montreal, Canada stopped mandatory random testing for those entering Canada by air on June 11, 2022, in order to conduct infection testing for air travelers by air.
In a statement, Public Health Agency of Canada said: “…testing was and remains an important part of our surveillance program to track the importation of the COVID-19 virus into Canada and to identify new forms of concern…. Compulsory random testing will resume on July 19, 2022, for passengers arriving by air to four major airports in Canada, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Toronto, who are fully immunized. To qualify as a fully vaccinated traveler in Canada, travelers must have received a primary series of COVID-19 vaccines accepted by the Government of Canada for the purpose of travel at least 14 calendar days prior to their entry into Canada. Should be vaccinated together.
It adds that all testing for air travelers, both for those who qualify for fully vaccinated and those with or without partial vaccination, will be completed outside airports, either at select test provider locations and pharmacies. Through in-person appointment, or a self-swab test for virtual appointment. Travelers who are not fully immunized, unless exempt, should continue to be tested on Day 1 and Day 8 of their mandatory 14-day quarantine.
“Testing outside airports will support testing for passengers arriving by air, while still being able to monitor and respond to new forms of concern, or changes in the epidemiological situation. Mandatory random testing continues at land border points of entry, without any changes. ,
“Air travelers who qualify as fully vaccinated and who are selected for mandatory random testing, as well as air travelers who do not qualify as fully vaccinated, are required to complete their customs declaration at 15 Will receive an email notification within minutes. The email will contain information to help them arrange their testing with a testing provider in their area. Unvaccinated travelers can make a virtual appointment with a testing provider in their stores or select pharmacies or in -Persons can complete their test by appointment and still have their quarantine requirements respected,” it says.
All passengers will continue to use Arrivcan (the free mobile app or website) to provide mandatory travel information within 72 hours prior to arrival in Canada, and/or, with some exceptions, prior to boarding a cruise ship destined for Canada.
“All vaccinated passengers who have been randomly selected for the Border Test Surveillance Program must meet the Arrival Mandatory Testing Requirements. If your arrival test result is positive, you must go into isolation and comply with the federal requirement to isolate for 10 days from the date of the test result. You need 10 days of isolation, even if your province or territory requires less isolation. ,
