Now, a customer’s experience at the renowned coffeehouse chain, Starbucks, has garnered much traction on social networking sites. Recently, a customer successfully redeemed a coupon issued back in 2006. This incident caught the attention of online users when a Starbucks employee posted a photo of a decade old coupon on Reddit. Surprisingly, despite the fact that several years have gone by, the brown paper (coupon) was well-preserved.

The accompanying note to the post read, “Someone just used this ‘recovery card’ thing from 2006 at my store.” As soon as the post was shared, online users swamped to the comments section to express their views. A user wrote, “OMG I remember having to count these and put them in the safe. lol. Memories! Then my SM got pissed because we were using too many and got a little stamp and numbered them – and we had to write down our name and the number of the card we were giving out.”

According to the information printed on the brown paper strip, Starbucks would grant a complimentary drink of any size to a customer at any Starbucks store situated in the USA or Canada. The terms and conditions included in the write-up were, “Not valid with any other offer or discount. Not valid if reproduced. Void where prohibited. Cash value 1/20 cent. Not for resale.” The information also revealed that the card was to be surrendered at the time of redemption to receive the free drink.
