Prime minister Narendra Modi QS Quacquarelli has a meeting with the CEO and Managing Director of Symonds, Nunzio Quacquarelli. Under the NEP, the Modi government aims to attract top 100 QS world ranking universities to open offshore campuses in India. it also suggests Construction of offshore campuses of Indian educational institutions. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 not only focuses on ensuring that talented Indian students study in Indian universities but also aims to bring foreign nationals to India.

The meeting between the PM and Quacquarelli comes at a time when India is focusing on building itself as a destination for study abroad, especially in the fields of engineering and cultural education.

Majority of the students who opt to study in India are male. Course-wise, B.Tech is the top choice after medicine.
