In view of rising inflation, the Union Cabinet has approved an increase of 3 percent in the dearness allowance of central government employees and pensioners.
In July, the central government had reinstated dearness allowance (DA) benefits for its employees and pensioners and increased DA from 17 per cent to 28 per cent.
DA is a part of the salary paid to government employees and pensioners. It is noteworthy that there has been no revision in the payment of DA to the employees from January 2020.
