Delhi University: A private bus carrying several varsity students overturned in Himachal while traveling to Manali on Friday. One person was killed and 40 others were injured in the accident, officials said. SDM Bilaspur, Abhishek Kumar Garg said that there were 44 people on board the bus, including 35 girl students of Kamla Nehru College and six coordinators of the group. The accident happened on the Chandigarh-Manali road.

One student, a resident of Jaipur, was crushed to death, while four others suffered fractures and the rest sustained minor injuries, officials said.

Passengers took the injured out of the bus and took them to Bilaspur Regional Hospital. One passenger was referred to PGI Chandigarh and two to AIIMS Bilaspur.

Police have registered a case against the bus driver for rash and negligent driving. Garg said that after the accident, the driver and the conductor fled from the spot.
