FIR against unknown accused
In this case at West Mumbai Cyber ​​Police Station on Sunday, a case has been registered against unknown accused under various sections of IT Act and IPC. This FIR has been registered on the basis of complaints alleging that they are auctioned by uploading edited photos of women in the Bully Buy app on the GitHub platform.

Case under sections of cyber act
In this FIR, the Mumbai Police has filed IPC sections 153-A (promoting discrimination between two communities on religious grounds), 153-B (deliberately trying to hurt religious feelings), 354-D (pursuing), 509 ( Using words or behavior intended to outrage the dignity of a woman) and 500 (criminal defamation). In addition, section 67 of the IT Act (publishing or sending objectionable material in electronic form) has also been included.

Police asked for developer’s information
Delhi Police on Monday morning sought information from the GitHub platform regarding the developer of the dodgy application. At the same time, Twitter has been asked to block and remove related content on its platform. The police have also sought information from Twitter about the account handler who first tweeted about the app.

Priyanka Chaturvedi had complained
Bully bye app was opposed by Muslim women and several political parties. Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi had also complained about this to Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav through a tweet.

IT minister blocked the app
On the complaint of Shiv Sena MP, IT Ministry has blocked Bully by App. IT Minister Vaishnav, while replying to Priyanka late on Saturday night, informed about blocking the app. It was also told that the police is preparing to take action against the developers of the app.

Delhi and Mumbai Police started investigation
After this, the Mumbai Police has started investigation on the complaint of Priyanka Chaturvedi. Apart from this, a journalist has also lodged a complaint with Delhi Police. She was also put up for auction on this app along with some Muslim women.

Last year there was protest over Sully Deals
The Bully Buy app is being touted as a clone of Sully Deals. In July last year, there was a lot of opposition about the Sulli deal as well. Sulli is a term used by extremists to insult Muslim women.

Although no auction has been carried out in both the cases, the purpose of these apps is to harass, embarrass and humiliate Muslim women.
