Mumbai Crime Branch’s cyber police on Thursday arrested a 28-year-old man from Odisha in connection with a bully by app that targeted Muslim women by putting their images online for “auction”, an official said.
The accused has been identified as Neeraj Singh, who is an MBA degree holder. He said that he was involved in planning the app with the main accused.
“Their role came to the fore during interrogation of the accused, who were earlier arrested, following which a team from the Cyber Police Station was sent to Odisha and arrested them,” the official said. He said Singh was being brought to Mumbai and would be produced in a court here.
With his arrest, the Mumbai Police has so far arrested four people in this case. Earlier Shweta Singh (18) and Mayank Rawal (21) were arrested from Uttarakhand, while engineering student Vishal Kumar Jha (21) was arrested from Bengaluru.
Neeraj Bishnoi, one of the alleged main conspirators in the Bulli Bai app case, was arrested by the Delhi Police from Assam.
