‘Budget was Contrary to Expectations of Common Man’: Himachal CM Sukhvinder Sukhu

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said the Union Budget was disappointing and contrary to the expectations of the common man. He said that the budget is just a clever ploy to achieve the desired goals. “There is nothing for any section of the society in this budget,” Sukhu said. The chief minister said people were waiting for the “acche din” promised by the BJP in 2014. The Central Government has lost its only opportunity to fulfill the announcements as promised before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“The budget lacks vision for the employment sector and no proper thought has been made in this direction. There is no mention of urban employment and farmers who were expecting to increase the loan limit. Subsidy on farm equipment or fertilizers No announcement was made.” Moreover, there was no increase in MNREGA allocation, leading to complete neglect of rural employment opportunities.

“Nothing has been projected for the state in the Union budget. There is no allocation for expansion of rail infrastructure and national highways. Even the change in income tax slabs has not lived up to the expectations of the people. Moderate No relief was given to the class,” the chief minister said in a statement.

“The middle class is totally disappointed and unhappy as they were expecting more relief in tax slabs. This is a budget to make the rich richer and the poor poorer,” he said.

He said that no special grant has been announced for debt-ridden states. “Not only Himachal but many other states were also in the same boat and were drowning in debt. We have inherited a debt burden of about Rs 75,000 crore from the previous government, apart from paying dues to employees and pensioners. was owed.” 11000 crores approximately.”

He said that there is no mention of GST reimbursement from June 2022 to small hill states in the budget.
