Budget 2022 | Kisan Drones Will Make Farming Easier, Technology To Improve Farmers’ Lives: Govt

Union Budget 2022, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the financial year 2022-23 to the country on February 1, 2022. In this budget speech, she laid out the development roadmap in front of the country. In the budget for the financial year 2022-23, the highest emphasis has been given to improving the lives of people with the help of technology. She said that with the help of better technology, the government wants to improve the lives of farmers. During her budget speech, Finance Minister said that the government wants to emphasize the use of technology to modernize farming.

Along with this, the government wants to do crop assessment, ground-tapping, spraying of pesticides, etc. with the help of technology. The government is in the process of taking the help of drones for spraying pesticides, hence, their focus is on the use of ‘Kisan drones’.

What are Kisan drones?

The Kisan drone will have an unmanned tank (humanless tank) filled with up to 10 liters of pesticide. The drone will spray the same amount of pesticide on about one acre of land in just 15 minutes. This will save the time of the farmers, will require fewer efforts and pesticide spraying will be done correctly and uniformly. In addition, emphasis will be given to introducing the new technology to the farmers and educating them about its usage.

Other announcements for the farmers
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget speech said that the government will procure record crops on MSP. Along with this, the year 2023 has been declared the year of coarse grains. The government will encourage farmers to take up organic farming. At the same time, the use of digital facilities in farming will be promoted. Along with this, the government’s emphasis will also be on improving the irrigation, drinking water facilities. Railways will develop some efficient logistics to help small farmers. The farmers will get help through PPP (public-private partnership) model.
