BTS Tells Jimmy Fallon They Have Collaborated With Ed Sheeran Twice But Never Met Him

With their latest single Permission To Dance making waves on social media thanks to Cena, BTS is set to enthrall their international fans through their appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. The seven-member K-pop group is promoting their third English-language single on an American television show. In a two-day takeover on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on July 13 and 14, BTS will perform and engage in some fun conversations with the host.

BTS fans noticed that the South Korean band danced to their latest single on Tuesday night. The theme of the stage was predominantly purple, a color that band vocalist V aka Kim Taehyung had long described as an expression of trusting and loving someone. BTS co-wrote their latest single with British artist Ed Sheeran. Talking about his experience working with Sheeran, BTS leader RM said that he can’t believe he hasn’t met her yet, and this is her second project with him. The first time the two artists worked together was for the song Make It Right which was part of BTS’ 2019 album Map of the Soul: Persona.

Indulging in some witty jokes, Fallon told BTS that he’s always open to collaborations with them. Fallon told the group that he knew them better than Sheeran and that he had some song ideas if they wanted to. The group talked to Fallon about their Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group. The members, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Jungkook, V, Suga and RM also had a fun session with Fallon where they answered whether some of the rumors about them were true.

V addressed one of those rumors about himself where it was believed that he did not intend to audition for a K-pop group and was in fact accompanying his friend for a screening test. V confirmed that this was true and was chosen for the group instead of his friend.
