BTS members RM, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook come together to bid farewell to J-Hope as he enlists for his mandatory military training. The five Bangtan boys were joined by Jin, who is already a few months into his training. Nominations took place on Tuesday, 18 April. While photos from the enrollment day had already gone viral, Big Hit Music dropped a new Bangtan bombshell as we closer to Hobie’s recruitment day.
What started as a sad affair turned into an emotional yet heartwarming OT7 reunion that took everyone by surprise. As the group bid farewell to the rapper, they were surprised by the unexpected arrival of Kim Seokjin (better known as Jin), who was away on his own military duty, the video revealed. Fans were excited to see the entire BTS lineup back together again, even if it was just for a moment.
A touching video of the reunion was shared on the global icon’s YouTube channel, and quickly went viral, showing the members huddling together with J-Hope, hugging the group’s sunshine with tears in their eyes. The BTS members showed their deep love and appreciation for Hobi, who will be sorely missed during his 18-month absence.
During farewell, J-Hope welcomes Min Yoongi (aka Suga) with “Yoongi!” , AKA V, also cracked a joke about thinking about himself while shampooing, which got the group laughing. However, the most emotional moment came from the group’s leader, Kim Namjoon (better known as RM), who was seen wiping away tears as J. -Hope ready to give up, showing deep affection for his friend and fellow bandmate. Other members also hug Hobie and give words of encouragement.
Despite the sadness in the air, Park Jimin and Jin Jungkook attempted to lighten the mood with their own brand of humor, joking about not holding back tears and making Jin sad. His lightheartedness brought a sense of relief to an otherwise emotional farewell.
But the biggest surprise of the day was Jin’s unexpected appearance. Although they weren’t allowed to record or be shown on screen, their mere presence was enough to bring a sense of unity among the BTS stars and their fans, the ARMY members. Turns out, the Oldest Member used one of his vacation days to make sure he was there to see Hoseok off. And from the OT7 snap he shared on his Instagram handle, he had changed into his military uniform. As a sign of respect, J-Hope salutes Jin after recovering from his initial surprise.
BTS has become one of the biggest names in music worldwide, but despite their incredible success, they’ve always remained humble and connected to their fans. J-Hope and Jin’s surprise appearance to say goodbye to the reunion is a testament to the bond the members share and the love they have for their army. As J-Hope begins his military service, fans are eagerly awaiting his return and the next chapter in BTS’ journey.
