BTS remembers ARMY’s cheering voice at first post-Covid concert in Seoul with in-person attendees

K-pop icon The Bangtan Boys performed to a live audience at their first offline concert in Seoul since the pandemic. His last personal concert in the South Korean capital was in October 2019. After that, he performed in an empty concert hall in Seoul last year for the first Permission to Dance show, which audiences were to watch online.

From the introductory remarks to the end, the septet continued to refer to the fact that the audience was not allowed to stand or cheer loudly. They were clapped to use when cheering for the band. The bandmates kept reminding themselves that they shouldn’t even accidentally make the audience scream or shout. Instead, “make some noise” at this concert meant loud clapping, an act Jimin emulated during his closing remarks.

During his comments, J-Hope asked if fans are doing well because he is not. “Honestly, Covid-19 lasted for 2.5 years and I didn’t know when it would end. I was missing you all and can’t wait to see you. That’s why I was not doing well. But today all those worries are gone. We have had online concerts performed on stage without audience during the last 2.5 years. But it was so difficult. I can’t perform without an audience,” he said as other members cheered him on.

V aka Kim Taehyung told that he was coughing due to fine dust in the air. “I am not positive,” said the singer, who recently recovered from Covid-19. “I may be prone to fine dust, that’s the only reason I’m coughing… it’s been 2.5 years so we were very much expected to have fun today, how was that for you?” The other members replied on behalf of the silent audience, “It was a lot of fun.”
