BSP announces eight more candidates for the fourth phase of UP elections, replacing two

The names of eight candidates from Pilibhit, Sitapur, Hardoi and Unnao districts have been declared in the list released by Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Sunday.

The BSP on Sunday announced eight more candidates instead of two from Unnao district for the fourth phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. In the fourth phase, 59 seats in nine districts will go to polls on February 23. Eight candidates from Pilibhit, Sitapur, Hardoi and Unnao districts have been announced in the list released by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Sunday. The Mayawati-led party had on Friday announced 53 candidates for the fourth phase. It on Sunday announced the candidature of Sevak Lal Rawat from Mohan (SC) seat and Brijkishore Verma replacing Vinay Choudhary and Prem Singh Chandel from Bhagwant Nagar seat of Unnao.

BSP has now announced candidates for all 59 seats to be held in the fourth phase. Voting in seven phases in Uttar Pradesh will begin on February 10 with polling for 58 seats in 11 districts in the western parts of the state.

The last phase of polling will be held on March 7 and the counting of votes will take place on March 10. There are 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh.
