BSF jawan’s body reached his home; Funeral was done Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: The body of a BSF jawan posted at the Chap Ghati border post of Malda (Murshidabad) in West Bengal reached his house in Naubasta Macharia on Friday night.
Shailendra Dubey (36), a resident of Naubasta Macharia in Kanpur, had joined the BSF in 2004 and is currently posted in the 78th Corps.
At present he was posted at Chap Ghati border post of Murshidabad in West Bengal. While on patrol on Tuesday night, he slipped from the boat and fell into the Padma river. His body could be retrieved on Wednesday morning.
His body was brought to his ancestral residence in Naubasta Macharia late on Friday night.
Cabinet minister Satish Mahana, MPs, MLAs and district officials were present during the cremation of BSF jawan at Bhairav ​​Ghat on Saturday.
