Amritsar: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan shot dead four of his comrades and committed suicide with a service rifle. Amritsar Sunday Morning.
According to highly placed BSF sources, a BSF jawan of 144 battalion had some disagreement with his colleagues after which he opened fire with his service rifle, killing four of them on the spot, following which he committed suicide. . The incident took place at BSF’s Khasa camp near Amritsar.
Senior BSF officials have reached the spot but the exact cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.
BSF’s Inspector General, Border Range, Asif Jalal could not be contacted for his comments.
According to an official release, the fraternity was carried out by Sattappa SK, which stated that a total of 5 soldiers including Sattappa lost their lives, while one jawan was seriously injured.
A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the facts, the release said.
