Posters of the iconic washing powder Nirma girl were put up on the streets of Hyderabad by Telangana’s ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), welcoming Home Minister Amit Shah, who was in the city for the CISF Raising Day parade on Sunday.

The obnoxious welcome board had distorted images of Nirma girl along with the faces of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders such as Himanta Biswa Sarma, Narayan Rane, Shubhendu Adhikari, Sujana Chowdhary, Eshwarappa, who had joined the party from other parties.

“Washing powder Nirma! This is called Karma @AmitShah ji. Welcome to Hyderabad,” read a tweet by a BRS office-bearer.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the 54th Raising Day Parade of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Hyderabad on Sunday.

For the first time, CISF held its annual Raising Day function outside Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) at CISF National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) at Hakimpet, Hyderabad.

BRS leader Kavita was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for several hours on Saturday to record her statement in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy.

The BRS leader has been summoned again on March 16 regarding the matter.
