In an open letter written from jail, Kumar said the time had come for people to “throw off the BRS government, which was involved in land encroachment, drug trafficking, question paper leaks and gambling”.

Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the SSC paper leak case, was released from Karimnagar jail in the early hours of Friday.

On Thursday, he was granted bail on two sureties and a personal bond of Rs 20,000. He has been asked not to leave the country and cooperate with the investigation. He was arrested for circulating the leaked Hindi question paper in SSC exam.

After his release, Kumar said: “My arrest was to divert attention from the corruption of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government. Its purpose was also to create ruckus before the arrival of Prime Minister Modi tomorrow. People should reject the conspiracy of the KCR family.”

After his release, he visited Mahashakti Temple in Karimnagar. After this he attended the funeral of his mother-in-law.

The BJP leader received calls from Union ministers Amit Shah and Smriti Irani, BJP chief JP Nadda and other national leaders asking him to step forward and fight for public issues. He promised them his support.

In an open letter written from jail, Kumar said the arrest would not demoralize the cadre. He said the time had come for the people to “throw out the BRS government which was involved in land encroachment, drug trafficking, question paper leak and gambling”.

Welcoming the Hanamkinda court’s decision granting bail to Kumar, BJP spokesperson NV Subhash said, “Finally, truth has won the political war orchestrated by CM KCR. This is a slap on the face of CM KCR and BRS. They wanted to keep Kumar behind bars by falsely prosecuting him and prevent him from participating in PM’s programs on 8th April. Truth always wins. It may take seconds, minutes or hours, but justice always wins the battle, as is evident from our history.”

A rally is being organized in support of Kumar from Ambedkar statue to Rekurti Ambedkar statue in the court.
