Britney Spears said that Justin Timberlake would start crying when she would beat him at basketball.

Britney Spears has reacted to ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake referencing her during his recent performance at Fontainebleau in Las Vegas. Britney Spears took to social media after the performance to throw some shade at Justin’s “no disrespect” comment. She took to her Instagram handle on Friday, December 15, and wrote, “I never mentioned how I beat him in basketball and he would cry… no disrespect.”

Britney wrote, “Oh Jesus Christ, the stories… I could tell on the set of this one!!! There’s always more to the story and that’s not even half of it!!! It was shot in Arizona in 120-degree heat… 2 different version videos were shot for this song… most boys say ‘OH I’M SHOOK’!!! Psss I never mentioned how I beat him in basketball and he would cry… no disrespect.”

For the unversed, Justin Timberlake recently performed at the opening of the new Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas. For his performance, he opted for a new rendition of Cry Me A River. Before he began singing, he said, “No disrespect.” he changed the lyrics and added words from Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit into this version. He sang, “Ain’t we all just entertainers? Think I’m stupid and contagious?” Britney then clapped back at him by sharing that he would cry when she beat him at basketball.

Their feud started when Britney opened up about her relationship with Justin in her new memoir, The Woman in Me. Talking about Cry Me A River, Britney wrote about how after their breakup, the music video made her look like a “harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy”. She wrote, “I felt there was no way at the time to tell my side of the story. I couldn’t explain, because I knew no one would take my side once Justin had convinced the world of his version.”
