New Delhi: British Airways (BA) has doubled its weekly India flights from 10 to 20 from Monday (August 16), after the UK moved the country to the Amber List, after India allowed more flights between the two countries. has given.
India has now allowed its carriers (Air India and Vistara) to collectively operate 34 weekly flights – up from the first 15 – and for several British carriers (BA and Virgin Atlantic). From the previously approved 30 weekly, India-UK can now have 68 weekly nonstop.
BA says it will now operate 20 direct return flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Air India, which has nonstops to London from several Indian cities, is adding flights to the UK.
Vistara has doubled its twice-weekly Delhi-London to four now.

These additional new flights will allow our Indian customers, who have waited so patiently, to reconnect with their loved ones. Ahead of the start of the new academic year, flights also offer new travel options for Indian students wishing to travel to the UK and further studies.
BA said in a statement: “To help customers navigate the changing entry requirement and facilitate a seamless journey, they can choose to download the Verifly app prior to their departure to London. The digital health app allows customers to access their travel verification documents and COVID – 19 allows to combine test results in one place and confirm their eligibility with a few simple steps.”
