Bridgerton Fame Reggae-Jean Page: ‘The Russo Brothers Asked Me to Bring Something Unexpected to the Gray Man Part’ | Specific

The reggae-jean Page star is rising rapidly in Hollywood, thanks to his breakout role as Simon Bassett, aka the Duke of Hastings. Netflix Series ‘Bridgeton’. Page is currently gearing up for the release of another highly anticipated Netflix production “The Gray Man,” in which he plays CIA director Denny Carmichael, a trained assassin part of the CIA’s top secret program, the Sierra Six. Hell to catch.

During a roundtable interview with a select group of journalists from India, Page described the thrill of becoming the villainous boss and what it was like to collaborate with Anthony and Joe Russo for the film. Page noted that taking on the role of Carmichael was an interesting change from what he had previously done in “Bridgeton.”

“I think that’s what every artist aims for,” Page said during the roundtable. “It’s always a change. Like everything I’ve done for the past 10 years, there’s been a change from the last one. I think you can tell by the way that you’re doing it right. Like every character Lives in their own world and their own surroundings have their own challenges, constraints, and are expected to emerge in their own unique way. And so as such, it was exactly as it has always been, which is a delight. It was changing and there was creative freedom to play.”

Page continued, “The first thing Joe and Anthony said to me was, we want you to bring your creativity into this, we want you to have some fun, we want you to bring something unexpected to the part. , but even the best atmosphere in it, that’s always the job. So it’s been remarkably consistent with every new role I’ve taken. And it’s quite familiar in that way.”

The Gray Man stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush, Wagner Moura and Alfre Woodard. Based on the novel The Gray Man by Mark Graney, the screenplay is by Joe Russo, Christopher Marcus and Stephen McFeely. Page was praising the Russo brothers and the “incredibly inspiring” cast of ‘The Gray Man’.

“I had no idea we carried this thing. It was super cool. The thing about being a performer of this standard is that it’s incredibly inspiring. It’s knowing that everyone on set is capable of incredible things. It’s watching before your eyes everyone is bringing their A game. Everyone is bringing their A game to the planet’s best directors who have achieved and done everything under the sun and film, and Now just pushing myself beyond my limits. So I think the challenge is to keep that up and the joy of artists of this ability is the ability to do that, and to raise the bar again. So I think that’s about it. It was the funniest thing in me,” Page said.

Talking about preparing for her role, Page said, “I think a lot of psychological preparation was done for it. And I think Susan (Jessica Henwick) and Danny are both manipulatives. So I think there’s a fine balance in the way the film is written and presented, between physical action and psychological action in terms of the way people manipulate others into their physical action. We send Ryan and Chris kicking each other while we sit back and watch the chaos. And I think it was a lot of fun.”

“The Gray Man” began a limited theatrical run on Friday (July 16). It will release in full on Netflix on July 22.
