‘Brahmastra’ registers 50% occupancy in morning shows; earns Rs 28 crore in advance booking – Times of India

‘Brahmastra’ is off to a flying start! The initial occupancy report suggests that the mythological drama has managed to finally pull the audience to the theatres. ‘Brahmastra’ has recorded occupancy of 45-50%. Interestingly, several theatres have also witnessed 100 plus audience in the morning shows, which is a positive sign, reports Boxofficeindia. Since the ticket rates are high, buzz is that ‘Brahmastra’ could well be Ranbir Kapoor’s biggest opening till date.

The current trend suggests that ‘Brahmastra’ has registered a positive trend in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore cities. Since it is Ganpati Visarjan in Maharashtra and South, the semi-holiday should add to the numbers. Also, the occupancy in Nizam and Mysore circuits is very high, so big opening day numbers are expected from there too. This sci-fi drama is giving tough competition to the opening day numbers of ‘RRR’ (Hindi) and ‘Sooryavanshi’ in CI and Bihar circuits.

As far as advance booking figures are concerned, ‘Brahmastra’ has recorded the fourth highest advance of all time for Hindi films, after ‘KGF 2’, ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ and ‘War’. This Ayan Mukerji directorial has managed to achieve this feat as a post-pandemic release, which is impressive. The ticket rates for ‘Brahmastra’ are high and the film has earned around Rs 27-28 crore in advance booking. Commenting on the advance booking trend, Ranbir had said, “We cannot take these figures and all seriously because till the audience doesn’t see the film, the game doesn’t begin. The film is made for the audience. I think on Friday, we will get to know where we are, kitne paani ke andar hain (how well we will fare). But the feeling is, of course, positive. We have come as Shah Rukh Khan from Dilwale Le Dulhaniya Jaayenge, asking you, ‘come watch our movie!’ That’s all.”
