Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi is rocking the box office even in its second week of release. The film is not only ruling the hearts but also at the box office. Emerging as one of the biggest blockbusters after the coronavirus pandemic, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial continues its streak to bank well at the box office.

On Monday, film critic and film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared Gangubai Kathiawadi’s second weekend earnings on social media. On Friday, the film earned Rs 5.01 crore in India. Gangubai Kathiawadi had grown to Rs 8.20 crore on Saturday and its total collection on Sunday stood at Rs. 10.08 crores respectively. With this, the film’s second week collection is Rs. 92.22 crores.

According to trade analyst Taran, the film has done well despite facing the Robert Pattinson starrer Batman as the antagonist. As per Box Office India report, Batman did decent business in the first weekend, though the growth was not huge as the business was generally limited to metros and the English version, which opened very well on Friday itself. While the film did not do well in the regional versions and outside the big cities. The business plus paid preview of the weekend was around 22 crores.

Talking about Amitabh Bachchan’s sports-drama Jhund, the film received a sluggish response. As per Box Office India report, Jhund could not do well at the box office as it collected around 4.75 crores over the weekend.

“There was an increase for the film on Saturday and Sunday but it was not enough. The big collection of the film has come from Maharashtra but even in the city, the film does not seem to be going far. Collection outside Maharashtra is a disaster as the city of Delhi is also unable to collect despite media support for the film,” read the report.
