Box Office – Ranveer Singh hits 7th biggest opening day with ’83’

by Joginder Tuteja

Ranveer Singh has been pretty consistent when it comes to the double digit openings of his films. In fact his last three releases, Simmba, Gully Boy and Padmaavat were huge when it came to setting some personal records for the superstar. While Simmba crossed the 20 crore mark, the other two came pretty close to doing so.

The same was expected from ’83 and rest assured if it was not in the post-pandemic times, the film could have done well. Surely there will be murmurs about how Sooryavanshi came close to the 30 crore opening, while Spider-Man: No Way Home easily crossed that figure. Although the fact has to be considered that these were event films whereas ’83 is a big film which deserves very good numbers but cannot be expected to start on the same lines especially at the present time.

Nonetheless, the film still started off quite decently from where it should have headed, and in the process earned Ranveer Singh his seventh-highest opening day ever. Here is a list of some of the biggest openers of the actor:

simba – 20.72 crore

Gully Boy – 19.40 crores

Padmaavat – 19 crores

Gunday – 15.86 crores

Ramlila – 15.73 crores

Bajirao Mastani – 12.80 crores

’83’ – 12.64 crores

The special thing is that three of these seven films are Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s affairs, which shows how much the director has contributed to the actor’s career. However, coming back to ’83, while the beginning hasn’t made it to the top-5, it remains to be seen if the weekend gets too big and Ranveer gets his film there in the process.

The film is expected to receive good appreciation from all sides and if the preview promised to be a mega entertainer, the reviews coming from the audience have also been overwhelmingly positive, something that should enable the film to move forward and shine. , especially this Christmas season.
