Borsad Mla Elected Vice-chairman Of Amul Dairy | Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara/ Anand: Congress MLA from Borsad Rajendrasinh Parmar was elected as vice-chairman of the Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited (KDCMPUL) popularly known as Amul Dairy.
Though the elections for the posts of Amul Dairy’s chairman and vice-chairman were held on October 23, 2020, counting of the votes and declaration of results were kept in abeyance due to legal issues.
Ramsinh Parmar, former Congress MLA who joined BJP in 2017, was elected uncontested as chairman. However, the post of vice-chairman saw a contest between Rajendrasinh and BJP’s former MLA from Balasinor Rajesh Pathak alias Pappu Pathak.
On Tuesday, the counting of the votes was done and Rajendrasinh was declared the winner for the post of vice-chairman with nine votes of board members against Pathak’s six votes.
Ramsinh Parmar too was officially declared chairman of the dairy. Owing to the legal issues, the dairy’s board could not take important policy decisions including expansion of projects. “The declaration of the results will pave way for smoother functioning of our board,” said Rajendrasinh.
Rajendrasinh had moved the Gujarat high court challenging the Gujarat government’s decision of appointing three government nominees to the dairy’s board.
Last month, Justice Bhargav Kaira quashed the appointment of three government nominees to the dairy’s board.
