A bomb threat was received from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) headquarters in Delhi on Wednesday, which turned out to be a rumour, officials said. The CRPF Headquarters is located at the CGO Complex on Lodhi Road in the national capital.

He said a call from the paramilitary force to the police control room at 6.36 pm said that a “bomb has been planted” in a five-storey building located inside the Central Government Offices (CGO) premises on Lodhi Road. National Capital.

As soon as the police got the call, the SHO of Lodhi Colony along with the staff and seniors immediately reached the CRPF Headquarters CGO Complex.

In this regard, a joint BDS team of CRPF, CISF and Delhi Police was formed and a thorough search was conducted under the close supervision of senior officers of CRPF and CISF along with dog squad, bomb disposal team.

Nothing was found in the CRPF HQ building and the surrounding area after a thorough search by the BDS team.

On investigation, it was found that this call was made by a person from Gorrekunta in Warangal, Telangana.

The security establishment in the national capital is on high alert in view of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

The incident took place hours after two unclaimed bags were suspected to have exploded in East Delhi’s Trilokpuri, but officials said nothing suspicious was found in them except a laptop and personal belongings.

Further investigation is being done.
