The winners will be supported by Boeing and the relevant incubator partner for over six months to develop their ideas into market-ready and viable commercial solutions.

IISc and IIT students have won the Boeing University Innovation Leadership Development (BUILD) Program 2022-23. Not only will they receive a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, the winners will be supported by Boeing and the respective incubator partner for over six months to help them develop their ideas into market-ready and viable business solutions.

Seven winning teams Spacefields Pvt. Society for Innovation and Development (SID) Ltd. – IISc Bengaluru; Hem Dimensions Pvt. Ltd. from SID – IISc Bengaluru; Scavenges from IIT Madras Incubation Cell; Ceratattva Innotech Pvt. Ltd. from IIT Madras Incubation Cell; Modulo EV from Foundation for Innovation and technology Transfer (FITT) – IIT Delhi; SAP Aerospace from FIT-IIT Delhi; and Galanto Innovations Pvt Ltd Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IIEC) – IIT Gandhinagar.

Ideas from each of these seven teams include solutions for community development, the defense and space industries, and sustainability.

“Build is an excellent platform that provides an opportunity to young Indian minds and start-up enthusiasts to hone their skills and mature their ideas for implementation. We are committed to fostering innovation and nurturing talent through India for India and the world”, Gupte said.

Boeing partnered with seven incubators namely Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship – IIT Mumbai, Foundation for Innovation and technology Transfer – IIT Delhi, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center – IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Madras Incubation Cell, Society for Innovation and Development – IISC Bengaluru, T-Hub Hyderabad and Technology Business Incubator – KIIT Bhubaneswar will launch BUILD in India. Applicants were invited to submit ideas in the areas of mobility, space, connectivity, Industry 4.0 technology, enterprise digital solutions, sustainability and data analytics/AI.

After a rigorous evaluation process, 70 shortlisted teams entered regional boot camps, from which regional and national finalists received mentorship from start-up ecosystem experts, incubator partners and Boeing engineers to develop ideas. Participants further gained access to Boeing’s innovation ecosystem.
