Australia’s Travis Head said he would take inspiration from England’s attitude in Pakistan when he is out for the Test series against India.

Inspired by England’s misadventure in Pakistan, Australian batsman Travis Head will shed his conservative approach on spinning pitches entering the Test series against Pakistan. India With the aim of dominating the opposition bowling attack.

India and Australia will lock horns in the upcoming four-Test Gavaskar-Border Trophy, starting on February 9.

The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Head as saying, “Looking back at the way England played in Pakistan, I probably look back and wasn’t as positive as I wanted to be against spin in that series.” India.

“I think the way I’ve played against spin throughout this series – I know it’s completely different in Australia – but the more positive I am, the better I am with my feet and the better I am in defence. I am better

“We have seen that with the fast bowling this summer. When I go hunting for the ball, my front foot defense is probably the best and I think I have to go out there with a positive mindset, not defensive.”

In his last three series in Asia, against Pakistan in 2018 and 2022 and in Sri Lanka last year, Head has struggled to place the bowlers under the slower bowlers.

His previous outing in the sub-continent saw him score 213 runs in 11 innings at 21.30.

“I think I could have been a bit defensive in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, where there’s always a ball to your name,” Head said.

“But go out there, we’ve got a long time to settle out there, and explore the ground and understand what my role could be. It could be low-scoring, it could be high-scoring, you’ve got to score big. Might need to build up, or 40, 50, 60 can win you a Test match.”
