BMC: 1 Lakh Priority Wax for Adolescents 15-18 | Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Bhubaneswar : Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation ,BMC) has planned to conduct primary immunization of one lakh beneficiaries in the age group of 15-18 years to reduce the impact of possible third wave of COVID.
bmc commissioner Sanjay Kumar Singh He said that vaccination of 15-18 age group would be expedited with additional manpower if needed.
“Our priority is to give the first dose to one lakh beneficiaries in the age group of 15-18 years at the earliest so that they can get the last dose on time to avoid the impact of third wave, if any,” he said.
BMC has given 27,44,462 doses till Thursday, in which 13,14,847 people have received both the doses.
Additional District Urban Public Health Officer Antaryami Mishra said that if needed, mobile immunization vans would go to schools and Plus-II colleges to arrange jabs to the beneficiaries in the age group of 15-18. “We currently have 35 vaccination sites including government and private hospitals. If necessary, the number of sites can be increased,” he said.
