Mangaluru: People arrived in large numbers beaches In Dakshina Kannada on New Year’s Eve. Though Deputy Commissioner KV Rajendra restricted entry to all beaches in the city after 7 pm, many people were seen returning from the beaches till 7 pm.

Meanwhile, at Srikshetra Dharmasthala, devotees offer a special service by decorating the temple premises as part of the New Year celebrations. A team of 15 people from Bengaluru decorated the temple building, Beedu (residence of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Virendra Hegde) and other buildings in the temple town using various fruits, flowers and leaves.
Gopal Rao, a devotee of Sai Flower Decorators, Chandra Layout, Bengaluru, said that his firm has been decorating the temple every year during the New Year celebrations. “We have been offering these seven to decorate the temple for the favors achieved through worshiping the Lord at the shrine,” he said.
Dharmadhikari D Virendra Hegde, while sharing the new year wishes, said, “In the last two years all the activities remained stagnant due to the COVID-19 pandemic. People were living in fear and anxiety. However, the situation is better and we can see an uptick in activities across sectors. However, we should be more responsible and follow the COVID-19 guidelines to make the new year prosperous. ,
