A 12-year-old boy has been badly injured in a mobile battery blast in Chhatarpur. He brought the battery home lying on the road and playfully connected wires from one point to the other. With a loud bang, the battery exploded and its pieces entered the boy’s body. Bleeding is happening due to the piece entering the liver. Apart from the lungs, there have been serious injuries in the hands, feet, mouth, stomach, chest.
The injured 12-year-old Afzal son Hasim Khan is a resident of Kurraha village in Chhatarpur district. He along with his mother Rukhsar Begum had gone to the maternal uncle’s place in the neighboring UP village of Srinagar. Mother Rukhsar Begum told that on Friday she had found a mobile battery lying on the road. He brought her home. The battery exploded while laying wires here and there. The child is admitted in the district hospital.

According to Dr. VP Sesha, senior surgeon of the district hospital who is treating the child, the child’s condition is critical. The pieces of the battery have penetrated deep into the body, which has damaged the interior. One piece of battery entered the liver and the other piece entered the lungs. Liver bleeding is not stopping. If the bleeding does not stop, surgery will be needed.
