KURUKSHETRA: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Haryana National President Gurnam Singh Charuni on Tuesday Chandigarh Police (CP) to withdraw the case against the Punjabi singer jas bajwa.

Police booked Jas Bajwa Sonia Mannu Under sections 147, 148, 149, 186, 188, 332, 341 and 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Central Sector 17 Police Station on June 26.
Police alleged that Jass Bajwa and Sonia Mann lead the gathering with naked swords, spears and sticks from the Cricket Stadium Chowk side.
It further alleged that Jass and Sonia instigated the gathering and broke the barricades and did not listen to the police officers.
“A case has been registered against him under several sections for harassing Jass to work for the farmers,” Charuni said.
Charuni warned the CP, “If the police will register such cases against our people then we will have to take some action accordingly. We ask Chandigarh Police to refrain from such acts and take the case against Jas Bajwa immediately. Gives a clear warning of cancellation. Police should watch the video and investigate the matter and quash the matter.”
When contacted, Chandigarh Sector 17 Police Station House Officer (SHO) Ram Ratan Sharma abused this TOI reporter twice and angrily said, “Is there only one person by the name of Jas Bajwa in the whole of India? We asked his father.” Didn’t know or know or he is a singer. There are 10 Jas Bajwas in Chandigarh who are my friends.”
When asked to give details about Jas Bajwa mentioned in the FIR, Sharma said, “Had we recognized him, we would have arrested him. cid
