Before the Punjab assembly elections to be held in the new year, the Bharatiya Janata Party has made preparations for the grand entry by opening the state headquarters in Jalandhar. The party will play a big bet this time in the Punjab elections by fielding its candidates on most of the seats. The party plans to field its candidates on 70 to 80 seats in Punjab. The rest of the seats will be left for the alliance partner Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress Party and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa’s party.

What will be the terms of the alliance in Punjab with Captain and Dhindsa, which seats will BJP keep and which seats will it leave? The brainstorming on this continues. BJP’s Punjab in-charge Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has had meetings with Captain and Dhindsa. The report of these meetings is being given to the National President of BJP. At present, according to the things that are coming out, the BJP itself will field candidates on 70 to 80 seats in Punjab. The party of Captain and Dhindsa can be given 37 to 47 seats. There are total 117 assembly seats in Punjab.

BJP wants to keep majority with itself

Does the alliance of BJP, Captain and Dhindsa get majority after the election or not? They are in the womb of the future. But one thing is clear that BJP may be compromising with Captain and Dhindsa but it wants to keep majority in the state with itself. Various points have been discussed in 7 rounds of meetings between Captain and BJP’s Punjab election in-charge Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Shekhawat himself has confirmed that the BJP and the Captain will contest the elections together in the state. The Captain has also said that the distribution of seats and the selection of candidates will be done after discussion on each seat.

BJP is doing what the Akalis did

The Bharatiya Janata Party is following the Akali Dal fund with the support of Captain Amarinder Singh. Like the Akali Dal kept most of the seats in Punjab with itself and gave only the seats of urban areas to the BJP, on the same lines the BJP is now making an alliance with the Captain. The BJP had 20 seats during its alliance with the Akali Dal, but in the 2017 election, it contested 23 seats. However, the party won only 3 of these seats. On the other hand, Akali Dal, which contested on 94 seats, could win only 15 seats.

The formula of Jat land is in Jatt land

The Bharatiya Janata Party, which contested elections in Haryana from Chaudhary Bansilal’s Haryana Vikas Party and sometimes with Om Prakash Chautala’s Indian National Lok Dal, had an alliance with Kuldeep Vishnoi’s Haryana Janhit Congress until 2014. Kuldeep Bishnoi’s Haryana Janhit Congress broke the alliance just before the 2014 assembly elections. In Haryana called Jatland, the BJP had some base in the cities but it did not have a strong face in the rural areas.

Sensing the urgency of the occasion, he opened his doors to the disgruntled leaders of all parties. By getting the big faces of all the parties to join the party, BJP contested the elections alone in Haryana for the first time and came to power with full majority. Now BJP is going to implement the same formula in Punjab. Here too it has opened its doors to the leaders of all parties and is welcoming their angry angry and frustrated leaders.

BJP’s eyes on Doaba-Majha

BJP has started laying the board in Punjab. In the first phase his focus is mainly on Doaba and Majha. The party is also eyeing Ludhiana city and Puad area falling in Malwa. BJP will field more of its candidates in these areas. Most of the seats in the rural areas of Malwa can be given to Captain and Dhindsa.

Party sources say that Captain has been the Chief Minister of the state twice and he knows all the geography of Punjab. He has information about one seat each in Malwa, Doaba and Majha region. The Captain is also aware of the weak links of Congress and Akali Dal. BJP wants to take full advantage of this. In Punjab, of course, the BJP will contest most of the seats, but the captain’s involvement in the selection of candidates is expected to remain the same.
