Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form government in all poll-bound states adding that it will end reservations for Muslims in Telangana.

While talking to CNN-News18, Shah said that the BJP will form government in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh along with Telangana.

The home minister further said that his party, if voted to power, will end reservation for Muslims and introduce a quota for the Madiga community.

On Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Panauti’ remark on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which stirred a massive political controversy, Shah said that whenever the opposition abused Modi, the voters gave answers to them.

Whenever they have abused PM Modi, the public has answered by giving votes to BJP. This time too, we will win elections in all the states,” Shah said.

The Election Commission on Thursday issued a notice to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for calling PM Narendra Modi “panauti” (unlucky) and “jaibkatra” (pickpocket). The poll body has asked Gandhi to reply to the notice by 6 pm on Saturday.

The notice was served to him based on a complaint by the BJP for his remarks at a public rally in the Barmer district of Rajasthan. In the election rally, he blamed the Prime Minister for Team India’s loss at ICC World Cup 2023 and said “PM means–Panauti Modi”.

Elections are underway in five states with polling completed in three of these. Voting in Rajasthan (November 25) and Telangana (November 30) will be held in the coming days.
