Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Tuesday met BJP councilors of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and expressed confidence that the party will work for good governance and end “dynastic misrule” in Telangana. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is eyeing the southern state for big gains after an impressive electoral performance, including the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, assembly bypolls and Hyderabad municipal elections.
The corporators were accompanied by Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, who is also from the state. “Met corporators of @BJP4Telangana & other party leaders from Telangana at GHMC. We had an extensive discussion on focusing on community service efforts and helping people at the grassroots level. BJP will work for good governance and ending dynastic misrule in Telangana.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who heads the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the southern state, has been working to mobilize support for the anti-BJP alliance at the national level. BJP is yet to make much headway in the South India Its recent performance outside Karnataka, but in Telangana, has fueled the party with hopes of ensuring a strong presence in another southern state.
The saffron party is also holding its national executive meeting in Hyderabad next month.
