BJP Top Brass Meets to Finalise Candidates for Tripura Polls

Polling for the 60-member Tripura Assembly will be held on February 16. The last date for filing nominations is January 30. The counting of votes will take place on March 2.

Top BJP leaders, including party chief JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and others, met here to finalize candidates for the upcoming Tripura Assembly elections.

Thursday’s meeting was also attended by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, BJP’s state in-charge Mahesh Sharma and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Deb.

Earlier in the day, the core group members of BJP’s Tripura unit met at the residence of party leader and in-charge of Northeast Sambit Patra.

The BJP’s Central Election Committee meeting is likely to finalize its candidates for the Tripura assembly polls on Friday.
