The BJP on Saturday hit out at the Congress after its Punjab unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu allegedly called Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan his “elder brother” during a visit to Kartarpur Sahib, alleging that the opposition party is involved in Hindutva and IS and Islam. Looks at terrorist groups like Boko Haram. While it finds “Brother Jaan” in the mine.

A purported video of a Pakistani official welcoming Sidhu on Khan’s behalf has gone viral in which the Congress leader can be heard saying that Khan was an “elder brother” to him and that he loved him dearly.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that this is a matter of serious concern for India.

He claimed there was a larger design at work, and that Sidhu’s comments were linked to several Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, criticizing Hindutva.

Referring to Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s statement in his latest book, Patra said the opposition party sees terror groups like ISIS and Boko Haram in Hindutva while it sees ‘Bhai Jaan’ in Khan.

This is being done for the politics of appeasement because the Congress still believes that there is a section in India that would be happy with the praise of Pakistan. Patra said that though there are no such people in India.

He said Sidhu had praised Khan and Pakistan in the past and had hugged his army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa during his last visit to the neighboring country.

Noting that Punjab is a border state where Pakistan tries to create trouble, Patra said it needs a mature and patriotic leadership. He said that Sidhu is not right for India and Punjab deserves better than him.

The BJP leader alleged that Pakistan’s foreign minister had recently termed Hindutva as a threat to global security and had borrowed the word from Rahul Gandhi.

When asked about Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi writing a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of farmers, Patra hit back and asked whether she considered Khan to be her elder brother like Sidhu, as she had earlier adopted the Punjab leader as her own. Brother said.

Sharing the video, BJP IT department head Amit Malviya tweeted, “Rahul Gandhi’s favorite Navjot Singh Sidhu calls Pakistan PM Imran Khan his “big brother”. The last time he hugged the Chief of the Pakistan Army, General Bajwa, praised him. Is it any surprise that the Gandhi brothers and sisters chose Pakistan-loving Sidhu over veteran Amarinder Singh?”

India recently opened the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, and many pilgrims from Punjab, including politicians, have visited the place to mark the birth anniversary of Sikhism’s founder, Guru Nanak.
