The Congress and the CPI(M) ruled most of Tripura, and the BJP swept to power in 2018, ending 25 years of Left rule. Both the parties have decided to contest the assembly elections to be held on February 16 in alliance.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the pace of development carried out by the “double engine government” in Tripura has reached the bullet train.

Addressing an election rally at Suryamaninagar here, he said the double engine government’s speed was felt during the Covid-19 pandemic when people were getting free vaccines, free treatment and free food.

The senior BJP leader claimed that if the Congress or the CPI(M) were in power in the state, people would have been deprived of those items.

We want development of all and respect our tradition and faith. We do not believe in violence and are against terrorism of any kind,” the UP chief minister said.

Adityanath said to respect tradition, glory and development, the newly built Agartala airport was named after Maharaja Bir Bikram, the last king of Tripura.

He claimed that Tripura has created a model of ‘good governance and people’s security’ under the leadership of the prime minister. Narendra Modi And the people of the state will have to take this tradition forward.

He said that during the last five years of BJP rule, three lakh families got houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 2.70 lakh people benefited from Ujjwala scheme, 2.5 lakh farmers got Krishak Samman Nidhi, and more than 80 per cent More people have got the facility of pure drinking water.

He said that there was a time in Uttar Pradesh when people were deprived of governance, but after the coming of the double engine government, the citizens have started getting the fruits of development.

He also appealed to the people to visit the Ram temple in Ayodhya, which will be completed soon.
